Dedication

 

Dogsey is dedicated to Lesley Bruce, otherwise known by her username Shadowboxer, and who many of us affectionately referred to as SB.

Lesley was one of the first to join us soon after we started up, and she very quickly became one of our most regular, respected members. She would freely offer advice, help and opinions at every opportunity, and also played a big part in our articles and other content sections, writing for us whenever she could. Over the years she helped so many of us with our dog-related problems and cheered so many of us up with her wonderful personality, brilliant sense of humour and understanding. It was with great sadness that we learned that she passed away in September 2006.

On hearing the news, our community immediately pulled together. As a lasting memorial we could see no tribute more fitting than to dedicate the site to Lesley. We will do our utmost to ensure we never lose sight of the underlying values she stood for and the beliefs she held dear. We are determined to continue our mission - to help dogs through education and awareness-raising, through our articles, our guides and through the vast array of opinions shared daily in the community areas. It has always been our intention to be number one, as this would mean our articles and guides were reaching out to as many people as possible, and through them, their dogs. We are all the more determined now to carry on and succeed. We’re sure that this would have made Lesley very proud.

We will of course continue to miss Lesley deeply. She will remain in our hearts and minds... and her spirit will always live on in Dogsey.

R.I.P. Lesley - Thank you so much for all you've done. You will be missed and loved by all of us who were lucky enough to get to know how special you were.
