I gave up smoking 8 days ago after 23 years and now i cannot stand the smell of smoke, but i do not think it should be banned from public places. If someone smokes, they should be allowed to do so in pubs etc where its always gone on.Unfortunately, alcohol and ciggies go hand in hand and i have yet to go for a drink since giving up...

I have the same problem with pubs. When I smoked it never bothered me at all that there was a smokey atmosphere. Now I don't, I can't go in a pub at all - I just can't breathe. I never was a drinker, just went for the craic, so no loss to me at all - I'd rather be a non-smoker AND a non-drinker

Ah but Saint V, the only reason you CAN skip is because you don't smoke

Jmo..

I think it boils down to, is public health more important than social freedom? (notice I said social and not personal)

Well, I guess yes
